Tram at Rochdale station
No trams will run from Oldham to Rochdale Town Centre all day on Sunday (21 April), the Bee Network has announced.
The part line closure is due to planned engineering works taking place on the line around Rochdale.
Services will continue to run from East Didsbury to the Freehold stop in Oldham.
There will be no direct tram access from the city centre to Rochdale, Kingsway, Shaw, or Oldham Town Centre, with journey disruptions likely.
The Bee Network will be operating a bus replacement line serving all tram stops between the Freehold stop and Rochdale.
A normal tram service is due to resume by Monday morning.
The works add to the ongoing disruptions in place on the pink line.
‘Complex’ repairs on a cracked rail link have caused disruption to the East Didsbury-Rochdale Town Centre and East Didsbury-Shaw and Crompton lines since 22 January, with trams diverted between Exchange Square, St Peter’s Square and Victoria.
TfGM bosses have promised the Metrolink will be back to ‘full operations’ through Victoria by early May.
